- Frequently Asked Questions
What is gluten and soy free in the bakery?
Everything in the bakery is gluten and soy free. We use a 100% dedicated gluten and soy free kitchen. We research our suppliers to ensure our ingredients are premium and meet our requirements.
What ingredients do you use instead of wheat and dairy and as sweetener?
We make our own gluten-free flour mix from scratch and use different dairy alternatives. Our chocolate is certified gluten, soy, and dairy free. We use organic coconut sugar, stevia leaf, maple syrup, dates, and apricots as well as raw unpasteurized honey. See our ingredients page.
Is the kitchen nut free?
No. Some of our products have organic coconut and we have other nuts in the facility. While we take great care to avoid cross contamination and use disposable oven ready pans as much as possible there is always a risk of such contamination.
Are you Non-GMO and 100% organic?
Yes, we are totally Non-GMO. Not all of the ingredients we use are organic but they are all 100% natural.
Do you use eggs?
Some of our products contain organic cage free eggs while others do not.
What is vegan at the bakery?
We offer a variety of breads, cookies, cakes, deserts, tarts and treats that are vegan.
Do you make products for people with other restrictions?
We offer a service, Create Your Own. We will work with you on your needs as long as it is also gluten and soy free. Please contact us or email at info@chezhedwige.com.
Do you make layered cake?
Yes! We love creating special cakes. Contact us or email at info@chezhedwige.com.
Can I freeze my gluten free goodies?
We recommend eating them when you receive them. If you have leftover refrigerate them after placing them in a sealable freezer bag and then in an airtight container for consumption within 5 days. To keep them for a longer time place the airtight container in the freezer.
Remember to slice your bread or cut your goodies into portion before freezing them that way you can defrost only what you need without compromising the rest.
Once your refrigerated or frozen baked goods, except those with frosting, have been thawed you can warm them up. You can also toast your frozen slices of bread. Warming up gluten-free baked goods will help refresh them.
